Got the acting bug?  Have we got a deal for you.  Each summer we fire up our creative engines and launch a new season of Broadway productions.  We're always needing new talent, new faces and new voices to fill our casting calls.  Here's how it works if you're just totally new to all of this.

In March or April of each year we will post on this website and in local papers a casting call for the show(s) we've decided to produce for our summer season.  You will need to attend one of our auditions and show us your stuff.  We'll ask you to read some different parts from the script.  In addition we might ask you to read with someone else.  After that is over we'll ask you to sing a prepared song (totally your choice of song).  We'll be looking to hear the quality of your voice and your ability to keep pitch.  Don't sing?  That's OK, just let us know and we'll consider you for a non-singing part. That's it!

Once we hear everyone we will start matching looks, heights, singing ability (or non-singing ability), and acting ability to the available parts in a show.  You might get a lead part (you'll be a star), a secondary part (think Oscar for a supporting actor part) or a chorus part (pretty boring without townspeople or munchins).  Whatever part you're assigned it in no way means we think less of you or your abilities.  If you're not the Phantom of the Opera type for one show you might be just perfect as professor Henry Higgins in the next show.  Professional actors know how the business works.  If they don't get a part for one show they just move on to the next audition...no hard feelings.

So, come on, get involved!  Community theater is a great way to spend some time, make new friends, and bring some joy and laughs to people you don't even know who come to see you do your thing on stage!
